Frontier Airlines announces new nonstop flights to these major cities out of Myrtle Beach

Travelers will now have more options with Frontier Airlines announcing two new nonstop flights in and out of Myrtle Beach International Airport.

On Thursday, the airline announced it would be introducing 18 new routes over the summer, including two in Myrtle Beach. Starting July, the seasonal low-fare flights will be available to and from Newark, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Service to Newark Liberty International Airport will begin July 2, with flights scheduled three days a week — Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday — starting at $29. Flights to Philadelphia International Airport will also launch on July 2 for $39. Flights will be scheduled Thursdays and Sundays.

“We’re pleased to announced 18 new routes and demonstrate our commitment to providing low fares to great destinations for our customers as the country reopens,” Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial for Frontier Airlines, said in news release. “We anticipate these new routes to a variety of popular vacation destinations will be in high demand as family and friends seek affordable domestic summer travel options.”

While the airline anticipates an influx of travel as restrictions caused by the coronavirus continue to lift, temperature screenings for all passengers and team members will begin on June 1. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher will be denied boarding as a step to better protect other passengers while flying, according to the airline.

Face coverings must also be worn by all passengers and employees throughout every flight, the airline states. Prior to check-in, travelers must also acknowledge whether they’ve been exposed to COVID-19 within 14 days of their flight, if they’ll check their temperature at home prior to travel, that they’ll wash their hands prior to boarding and they understand the airline’s policies on face coverings and temperature screenings.

Myrtle Beach International Airport currently offers 50 nonstop destinations from eight airlines, including Frontier, Spirit, Delta and American Airlines.
