‘Everybody loves tacos’: Harley week taco truck finds permanent home in Murrells Inlet
It all started during Harley Bike Week with the motto: “We fill ‘em deep and we sell ‘em cheap.”
Jimbo’s Tacos food truck was such a hit during the annual bike week that owner Jimmy Motley decided to open the truck year-round in the Murrells Inlet area.
The most expensive item on the truck is $5, with most tacos costing $3, and the motto explains how full each taco is with your choice of meat or a vegetarian option.
Manager Ricky Domorod said the truck was initially supposed to open nearly two months ago, but the grand opening was pushed to last Saturday due to the coronavirus preventing the business from gaining the proper permanent permits. So when it finally opened, customers were ready, he said.
“When we had our first customer, I don’t think we ever stopped,” Domorod said. “Everybody loves tacos.”
The truck, located across from Texas Roadhouse on U.S. Business 17, is open beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and is currently cash only.
Taco fillings include beef, grilled chicken, shrimp, and the truck serves specialty tacos like philly cheesesteak tacos, along with barbecue bowls. Each Saturday, the truck plans to have a new specialty taco.
“What I really want to do is to have the best damn tacos on the beach,” he said.
