Musician’s stage dive at House of Blues caused ‘severe’ injuries, concertgoer says in suit
A musician jumped from the House of Blues stage into the crowd causing “severe” injuries for one concertgoer, according to a lawsuit.
Cameron Harrell filed a suit in federal court last week against the House of Blues, Live Nation Entertainment and Louis McPherson.
Harrell visited the North Myrtle Beach area House of Blues in May 2017 for a live show, according to the suit. The original performer failed to show up and was replaced by McPherson.
During the performance, McPherson did a “stage dive” where he jumped from the stage on to the heads of the crowd below, the suit states.
Harrell was knocked to the ground and had “severe, traumatic and permanent” injuries to his head, neck and shoulder, the suit claims. The filing does not detail the extent of his injuries.
The suit states both House of Blues and Live Nation were negligent for allowing the stage diving. Harrell also said the House of Blues failed to provide a safe environment for customers.
Harrell asked for an unspecified amount of money, but says it’s more than $25,000.
The phone at the House of Blue administrative office went unanswered on Monday afternoon.
