One person dies in single-vehicle wreck near Longs area, police say

A 34-year-old Conway area man died in a single-vehicle crash Friday night in the Longs area, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Matt Southern.

Henry Jamal Grier died from multiple injuries sustained in the wreck, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., a 2012 Dodge Challenger was traveling northbound on S.C. 905 near Irees Way when it ran off the right side of the road, struck a tree and caught fire, Southern said. Grier, the lone occupant who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died from injuries sustained in the wreck.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
