Myrtle Beach malls sat empty during the COVID-19 crisis. Here’s when shopping could resume
One Myrtle Beach mall has reopened and another one will shortly.
Coastal Grand Mall announced Thursday evening that it was reopening Friday with operating hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Meanwhile, Myrtle Beach Mall announced Friday that it plans to reopen Monday at 10 a.m.
“Individual store openings may vary, so call ahead to see if your favorite store is open. Unfortunately, not all stores will be able to open, per the Governor’s Executive Order No. 2020-28,” Myrtle Beach Mall stated in a Facebook post. “We look forward to seeing our friends from the proper social distance!!”
Myrtle Beach Mall did not specify whether its 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-through-Friday hours and noon-6 p.m. Sunday operation were changing with the reopening.
Coastal Grand Mall noted it is taking safety precautions as the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect society.
“The health and well-being of our customers, employees, retail partners, and the communities we serve is always a top priority. As such, we have implemented a number of protective measures to keep our employees, retail partners, and community healthy,” a mall Facebook post states.

Myrtle Beach Mall announced a temporary closure March 20, but it’s unclear if or when Coastal Grand, which recently requested relief to help make loan payments, closed its doors due to COVID-19 precautions
