Fire breaks out at lumber yard in Pawleys Island, fire department says

Multiple departments were called to a fire at Pawleys Island Lumber and Building early Thursday morning, according to Midway Fire Rescue.

Crews were called to the scene about 4 a.m. Thursday morning after reports of a fully engulfed fire at the lumber yard, located at 96 Archer Road, just off U.S. 17., Midway Fire Rescue Chief Doug Eggiman said.

The fire is under control and under investigation, Eggiman said. No injuries were reported.

Midway Fire asked people to avoid the area while firefighters worked the scene.
