One person dead after single-vehicle crash in Horry County

One person died after being partially thrown from a car in a single-vehicle wreck, police say.

Emergency crews went to Daisy Road and Red Bluff Road in Loris area around 6:40 p.m. Sunday for the crash, South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brian Lee said.

A 2006 Chevrolet HHR ran off the road, hit a ditch and overturned, Lee said. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the car.

The driver died and the Horry County Coroner’s Office has not identified the victim.

In addition to SC Highway Patrol, the Loris Fire Department and Horry County Fire Rescue also responded to the scene.
