Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office finds dead body off the East Bay Park peninsula

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office reported finding a body off the East Bay Park peninsula on Saturday.

Officers are following body removal procedures and have notified Georgetown Coroner Kenny Johnson, according to a news release.

Both local and state law enforcement officers have been looking for Jimmy McCants, 83 since March 9. The release did not indicate if the body discovered is McCants, but information about the search was included in the statement.
