Wanting to go out for a walk this weekend? Here’s when you can before rain may roll in

Myrtle Beach could reach record-breaking temperatures before seeing some rain over the weekend, National Weather Service forecasters say.

For those who are practicing social distancing to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Saturday will be a chance to get out of the house for a walk, with forecasters calling for a partly sunny day.

Possible chances of rain could roll into the area Saturday night, and chances of showers may stick around Sunday and into the week, NWS forecasters predict.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington says Myrtle Beach’s record high temperature on March 20 was 81 degrees in 1945. Friday’s high temperature prediction is 79, forecasters say.

Here are highs and lows for the weekend, according to the NWS:

  • Friday: High 79, low 65
  • Saturday: High 77, low 54
  • Sunday: High 61, low 55
