Whale, what do we have here? Mother and calf caught on video off North Myrtle Beach shore

A whale and calf were captured on video off the coast of North Myrtle Beach by a local officer flying his drone.

The North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety posted the video to Facebook of two North Atlantic right whales about 100 yards off of the coast near 3400 S. Ocean Blvd.

According to the post, the department said the footage is rare for the area and the species of whales are one of the most endangered whales in the world.

This is the second time this year a whale and calf were spotted and caught on video off North Myrtle Beach.
