What will the weather bring as runners race in Myrtle Beach? Your weekend forecast

After a rainy week in Myrtle Beach, the sun is forecast to shine all weekend.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington is calling for cool and dry weather over the next few days.

Some higher wind gusts are possible through Saturday, as the Myrtle Beach Marathon and sporting events are underway. It’s possible gusts could reach up to 32 mph Friday and 25 mph Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Nights over the weekend will be chilly, with low temperatures in the mid 30s, the NWS reports. During the day, high temperatures are forecast to be about 54 degrees Saturday and 57 on Sunday. Freezing temperatures are possible in some areas of the region, mainly inland, which could cause damage to plants, the NWS Wilmington warns.
