Severe thunderstorms possible, warm temps ahead: Your Myrtle Beach forecast for the week

After a sunny start to the week, forecasters are calling for severe thunderstorms ahead of the weekend in Myrtle Beach.

The National Weather Service says a chance of showers could begin Wednesday afternoon, followed by possibly severe thunderstorms Thursday and Friday. Warmer temperatures are expected to last through the week.

The area could experience some higher wind gusts up to 21 mph Tuesday, according to the weather service.

By Saturday, rain and storms will likely move out of the area and it’ll be a sunny weekend with high temperatures around 60, the NWS reports.

Here are this week’s high and low temperatures, according to the NWS:

  • Monday: High 67, low 52
  • Tuesday: High 68, low 56
  • Wednesday: High 69, low 60
  • Thursday: High 71, low 55
  • Friday: High 60, low 42
