Georgetown County Coroner identifies man killed while cutting down a tree

A 60-year-old man died in Georgetown County while cutting down a tree, according to county officials.

Nathaniel Nesmith, of Nesmith, died on Thursday morning when a tree fell on him, according to the Georgetown County Coroner’s Office. He died from blunt force trauma to the head and torso.

The accident happened in a wooded area of Rose Hill Road in Georgetown. The area is south of the Hopewell community.
