Thousands of dollars in damage reported at Myrtle Beach minigolf course, police say
A Myrtle Beach miniature golf course was vandalized to the tune of nearly $3,000 on Sunday morning, according to a police report.
Early Sunday morning, police responded to Captain Hook’s Adventure Golf, located at 2205 North Kings Highway, for a vandalism report. The complainant told police an unknown person destroyed items on the property.
The complainant said he had gone to another of his businesses located at 71st Avenue North after a report of vandalism before going to Captain Hook’s minigolf, where he found damages, the report states. Police noted a drink machine was busted with pieces lying on the ground, several benches were broken and thrown into the parking lot and water, trash cans were broken and tossed to the ground and into the water, and a business sign was pulled from its post and dumped into the water.
Police, who noted the business has surveillance cameras, estimated the damages to be $2,800.
The report did not include any information on potential damages at the other location.
