Thunderstorms, rain start week off in Myrtle Beach. Here’s how long it will last

Patchy showers and dense fog in some areas are in the forecast to start the week in Myrtle Beach, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a dense fog advisory through noon Monday as rain and thunderstorms sweep through the area. Chances of showers are expected to last until midweek, but with warmer-than-usual temperatures for January.

The NWS reports showers will be on and off through Wednesday night, and thunderstorms are possible through the day Wednesday.

By Thursday, sunshine could return to the area as the day is forecast to be mostly cloudy. Temperatures will cool off Thursday night as a cold front moves across the region, bringing a low of 44 degrees, according to the NWS Wilmington, North Carolina.

Friday is forecast to be mostly sunny, with a high of 58 degrees, the NWS detailed forecast states.

Here are the high and low temperatures for the week in Myrtle Beach, according to the weather service:

  • Monday: High 70, low 61
  • Tuesday: High 71, low 61
  • Wednesday: High 70, low 60
  • Thursday: High 69, low 44
  • Friday: High 58, low 49
