Weekend weather: Warm, but possibly damp weekend ahead in Myrtle Beach, forecasters say

Temperatures in the 60s and 70s and chances of rain are forecast for the weekend in Myrtle Beach, according to the National Weather Service.

A cold front will move into the area late Saturday, as well as chances of rain and thunderstorms that will last through Monday, the NWS in Wilmington, North Carolina reports. It may be a bit windy Sunday, with wind gusts that could reach up to 23 mph.

The NWS has issued a small craft advisory for coastal waters from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The weather service says there will be “unseasonably warm temperatures” Friday and through mid-week. Here are high and low temperatures for the weekend in the Myrtle Beach area, according to the NWS:

  • Friday: High 68, low 59
  • Saturday: High 71, low 65
  • Sunday: High 72, low 62

Total rainfall predictions through Monday average 0.25 to 0.5 inches, according to the NWS in Wilmington.
