Fire engulfs Aynor-area home, Horry County Fire Rescue works to extinguish blaze

Two Horry County Fire Rescue firefighters were injured while working a fully engulfed house fire in the Aynor area Thursday afternoon.

Crews were called to the blaze at the intersection of Leonard Road and Edwards Road about 12:15 p.m. The house was under construction and unoccupied when the fire broke out, said Tony Casey with HCFR.

The two firefighters were injured when a floor collapsed and were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to HCFR.

Firefighters were still working Thursday afternoon to put the fire out.

The blaze is under investigation.
