How alleged ‘aggressive flirting’ at a Myrtle Beach bar got one man a date with police
That didn’t go as planned.
Police cited a man after he “aggressively flirted” with a woman at a Myrtle Beach bar and threw a drink when his advances were rebuffed, according to an arrest report.
Myrtle Beach police officers were flagged down around 3:45 p.m. Sunday for the possible assault. A woman said John Davidson, 33, entered a bar in the 1100 block of North Ocean Boulevard and began to flirt with her and others. The woman told Davidson they were not interested, which started an argument.
Davidson then threw his drink on the victim, the report states.
Davidson left the bar and the victim followed him and took his driver’s license, according to the report. The victim said she took the ID so she would have it for police.
Officers spoke to Davidson, who said he sat at the bar and the victim and another woman got agitated with him, the report states. An argument started and he threw the drink. He also said the victim threw a drink on him before he left. He added the victim took his license from his wallet.
Several witnesses corroborated the victim’s description of the incident. Police determined Davidson was the primary aggressor and cited him for third-degree assault.
