Cool nights, sunny days ahead of a rainy weekend in Myrtle Beach, forecasters say

The Myrtle Beach area will see some cooler nights this week and sunny days ahead of the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The week will be mostly sunny and clear, but, as of the Monday forecast, the weather service is calling for a chance of rain Friday night and into Saturday and Sunday. A cold front is forecast to move across the area Tuesday, bringing breezy weather and wind gusts around 25 mph, the NWS in Wilmington, North Carolina, reports. There is a slight chance of showers in the region Tuesday, according to the NWS.

Forecasters warn of small craft advisory conditions that are likely Tuesday and Friday.

The NWS said there will be another cold front approaching Friday, and it will bring above-normal temperatures. There is a 30 percent chance of rainfall Friday night, and chances of rain increase Saturday during the day and night, the NWS reports.

Here are the highs and lows for the week in Myrtle Beach, according to the National Weather Service:

  • Monday: High 58; low 45
  • Tuesday: High 62; low 39
  • Wednesday: High 56; low 40
  • Thursday: High 60; low 52
  • Friday: High 68; low 61
