Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar, CBD shop and shopping plaza coming to North Myrtle’s Main Street

North Myrtle Beach’s Main Street is getting a new shopping center in 2020 that will include a Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar.

The Shops on Main will be a seven-building shopping plaza next to the Barefoot Church. Owner Brad Alexander said it will be a family-owned complex hoping to be filled with local businesses.

“We’re not some big developer,” Alexander said. “We’re just a private family. We will have a building in the plaza also.”

Currently, stores include a Dirty Don’s, a CBD store, nail salon and a couple boutique shops. Alexander said as he gets permission from the store owners, he will begin announcing further details about the stores.

There is still space available for additional stores and a restaurant. Businesses interested in becoming a tenant can visit the plaza’s website for more information.

Alexander said he is flexible on the types of leases he can offer and wants to create a space where small businesses can grow without fear that their rent will skyrocket. He is also handling the construction, so he can help with up-fitting a store if the company needs it.

“If you’re successful, we’re not going to jump your lease when your rent comes up,” Alexander said.

The layout of the shopping center will be walking friendly to encourage people to park and support other stores. Alexander worked with the City of North Myrtle Beach to ensure the new complex positively contributed to the Main Street area.

The hope is to get the open shops by May. When business owners sign their leases will dictate when you will see stores open up.
