An 85-year-old woman was killed Friday evening when she was struck by a vehicle on West Dogwood Road in Horry County near Loris, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

A 2002 BMW was traveling east on West Dogwood Road near Vernon Lane at approximately 5:55 p.m. when it struck a pedestrian — later identified by Willard as Lillie Tyler of Loris — in the roadway, killing the person, Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.
