Secret Santa: Mysterious holiday display pops up in Little River field and keeps growing
It’s a Christmas mystery!
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, somebody placed a sofa in an empty field on S.C. Highway 90 in Little River. Next, a seated Santa was placed on the sofa and then a snowman, along with what appears to be a wooden cutout of Uncle Sam and an American flag. And as days went on, more holiday decorations were added.
“It’s a true mystery,” said Nick Sowers, broker in charge at Beach Connection Realty in North Myrtle Beach — the company managing rentals and purchases of the property. “Somebody randomly dropped the couch off … from that point, someone put a Santa on it. It just keeps growing.”
Sowers said the realty company “thinks it’s great” and has talked about adding a light to shine onto the display for folks to see at night as they drive by.
The property is on S.C. 90 at Mt. Zion Road.
“We thank the community for doing something fun,” Sowers said.
