‘Roller coaster’ temperatures this week: Your Myrtle Beach area weather update

Buckle up!

The Myrtle Beach area is expected to have “roller coaster temperatures” and rain this week, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Warm air will move into the area before a cold front comes Tuesday night, the NWS Wilmington reports. Temperatures will be in the lower 70s Tuesday before dropping to about 53 degrees that evening, the NWS reports. There is a chance of showers Tuesday and Wednesday, which will have a high temperature in the mid 50s and a low around 40, forecasters say.

After a cool down by mid-week, warm air will return for the weekend, according to the NWS.

Thursday is forecast to be partly sunny, with a high of 48 degrees. By Friday, showers are likely again with a high near 58 degrees in Myrtle Beach, according to the NWS.
