Thousands are without power Wednesday morning in the Carolinas.
Nearly 1,000 people lost power about 5:19 a.m. Wednesday in the North Myrtle Beach area, and the outage cause was not listed on the Santee Cooper website.
Duke Energy has also reported that about 1,344 people have lost power in the Pembroke, N.C. area, near the South Carolina border.
The power outage in North Carolina was reported about 4:49 a.m. Wednesday, and the cause was said to be from fallen trees or limbs damaging equipment, according to the Duke Energy website.
Santee Cooper officials said the power in North Myrtle Beach should be restored by 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, and Duke Energy officials expect power restoration for Pembroke, N.C. about 7:45 a.m.
