One dead after drowning in pond in Horry County, police say
One person drowned in a pond off Lilac Road on Friday evening, according to John Harrelson with Horry County police.
The deceased was pulled from pond, Harrelson said. Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said one male drowned.
Neighbors along Lilac said they didn’t know what was occurring at the house at the end of the road.
HCPD, Horry County Fire Rescue and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources all responded to the incident.
