Myrtle Beach crews rescue surfer in ocean
Myrtle Beach Fire and Rescue crews made contact with a surfer after he drifted far from the coastline on Saturday afternoon.
Rescuers responded to reported ocean rescue at about 5:30 p.m. near 67th Avenue North. Bystanders said a swimmer was far out from the beach and then vanished from sight.
Firefighters on scene said a surfer went out into the ocean and crews rode jet skis out and spoke to the person. They were working on bringing the surfer back to shore.
