Fowler said the victim died of multiple trauma after being hit by the three vehicles.
Cpl. Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol said the pedestrian was walking on the eastbound side of 544 and got hit by a car. The pedestrian then walked onto the westbound side and was hit by two others cars, Collins said.
The victim is a white man in his late teens or early 20s, according to Fowler. He stood 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighed 150 pounds. He had crew cut hair, no tattoos and was clean shaven. The man was a skateboarder and possibly lived near Jones Road. Anyone with information on his identity is asked to contact the coroner’s office at (843) 915-5110 or Horry County dispatch at (843) 248-1520
