Surfside Beach Police Department makes changes to parking lot

SBPD

Visitors to the Surfside Beach town hall will need to use a different parking lot entry due to changes made to the Surfside Beach Police Department parking lot, according to an advisory issued by police on Wednesday.

Vehicles will no longer be able to enter the two “drive-ins” adjacent to the police department, from Poplar Drive and Pine Drive, in order to reach the town hall building, according to the advisory.

Officials said the change was made to avoid the possibility of emergency vehicles and other motorists colliding in the parking lot.

Authorities are asking that visitors use the “drive-in” between town hall and the town of Surfside Beach civic center.
