Flood advisory in effect for some parts of Horry, Georgetown counties

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Horry and Georgetown counties effective until 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

At 5:21 p.m., heavy rain was detected on Doppler radar, the NWS reports, and over 1 inch of rain has already fallen in some areas.

Central Georgetown County and western Horry County face the biggest threat of minor flooding, the NWS says. Areas likely to be affected include Conway, Horry, Andrews, Loris and Green Sea.
