HCFR respond to house fire
Horry County Fire Rescue firefighters battled a house-fire blaze late Monday afternoon on Highway 57, and extra aid was called out to assist.
No injuries were reported in connection with the fire, and the cause was yet to be determined on Tuesday morning, Brian VanAernem, spokesman with Horry County Fire Rescue, said.
Rescue crews were called about 5 p.m. to a single-family home on North Highway 57, about a mile up from S.C. 9, VanAernem said.
One lane of North Highway 57 was closed while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.
VanAernem said no one appeared to be home at the time of the fire.
