Agent Orange Quilt of Tears memorial salutes veterans
Panels representing the living and dead are held together with matching threads on the Agent Orange Quilt of Tears that stands beside a wall marked with the names of the dead at the 50th Anniversary Salute to Vietnam Veterans exhibit on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach on Thursday, May 14.
The exhibit includes a few helicopters, the quilt and a traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall. The exhibit is located at the site of the former Myrtle Beach Pavilion at 9th Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard. Military Appreciation Days Parade is slated for 10:30 a.m. Saturday on Ocean Boulevard featuring U.S. Army veteran and Dancing with the Stars winner J. R. Martinez. The family picnic is from noon to 2 p.m. after the parade at the old Pavilion site.
