A newly formed group seeking to increase animal welfare rights will meet Wednesday evening in Carolina Forest, organizers said.

The Animal Voice Alliance is planning an animal welfare rally from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Carolina Forest Recreation Center located at 2250 Carolina Forest Blvd., officials said.

Jon Peret, who works as a volunteer with All 4 Paws Rescue in Pawleys Island, will be the featured guest speaker. The organization’s committee chairwoman, Jen Seay has prepared a video to explain puppy mill situations and how the group will work with local and state government for stronger legislation toward animal welfare.
