HCFR responds to Carolina Forest house fire
The cause of a house fire that occurred Thursday afternoon in Carolina Forest had not been determined by Friday morning, Brian VanAernem, Horry County Fire Rescue spokesman, said.
Horry County firefighters responded to the call about 5:30 p.m. Thursday to a house fire on Highfield Loop in the Berkshire Forest neighborhood in Carolina Forest, VanAernem said.
No one was injured in connection with the fire, and all residents were outside when rescue crews arrived.
The house was “fully involved” with flames showing when crews reached the home. Firefighters worked quickly and stopped the fire from spreading, but there was heavy damage to the home and garage area, VanAernem said.
The cause should be determined by Friday afternoon, but it could be early next week before the cause is discovered, VanAernem said.
More information will be released as it is received.
