Horry County Schools to name 2015 Teacher of the Year Tuesday
Horry County Schools will announce the 2015 Teacher of the Year at an award banquet Tuesday, naming one winner out of five finalists.
The finalists are: Joshua Cutright, a social studies teacher at Conway High; Martina McKoy, an English teacher at Horry County Schools’ Early College High School; Joey Trail, an English language arts teacher at Forestbrook Middle School; Ebony Bethea-Livingston, a science teacher at Loris Middle School, and Paul Hudacko, a social studies teacher St. James High School.
Ten semi-finalists were selected from the group of teachers chosen for Teacher of the Year from each school; they were interviewed by a panel and asked to give evidence of student achievement. The five finalists also underwent a series of classroom observations.
The banquet is at Myrtle Beach Marriott at Grand Dunes at 6 p.m.
