A 64-year-old man died from burns sustained in a fire Sunday morning in Conway, according to a release from Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.

Charles Daniels of Conway was pulled from a fire at 1902 Airport Road and transported to Conway Medical Center, the release states. He then was transported to the Augusta Burn Center in Augusta, Ga., where he died from injuries sustained in the fire, according to the release.

Horry County Fire Rescue and Horry County police are investigating the incident, which at this time appears to be accidental, Fowler said.

Officials responded to the fire, at 1901 Airport Road, shortly before 10:30 a.m., after a caller reportedly stated they were trapped in the apartment by the fire.
