Arson suspected in ‘suspicious’ house fire
A fire that destroyed a trailer on U.S. Highway 701 is now being investigated as a case of arson.
Horry County Fire Rescue and City of Conway Fire Department were called to the structure fire at 3645 Highway 701 South around 2:40 a.m. The first units on scene reported “heavy fire visible in a single-wide house trailer,” according to a tweet from HCFR.
Fire investigators told Horry County police that there was no power to the home and no one was living inside the trailer when the fire started, according to an incident report. The residence was considered a total loss.
Firefighters had the blaze extinguished by 3 a.m.

The fire remains under investigation.
