A new restaurant is in the works for the Market Common area called Water Tree Cafe, which plans to serve a light eclectic lunch fare of quiche, soups and salads, along with unique dinner selections.

Located in the Farrow Commons near the Walmart Neighborhood Grocery, the restaurant has not set an opening date but has obtained a building permit to reconstruct the interior. A restaurant representative will appear before the Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board this week for the sign permit.

According to the cafe’s Facebook page and a sign in the window, the new restaurant plans to open soon.

The menu includes pan seared salmon, shrimp ceviche tacos, chicken satay, even fried tofu with pineapple soy sauce or fried pickles with chipotle ranch.

The dinner offerings include a teriyaki glazed salmon, apple cider pork chops, stir fry, and pan-seared beef medallions.

The chef is Philomena Mazzochetti, who is a graduate of The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, according to the restaurant’s web page.

“We decided to open the Water Tree Cafe to bring something different to the area. Our focal point is to cater to the local residents of the Market Commons area,” the website said.
