Myrtle Beach family wins $100,000 from lottery scratch-off ticket
“We’re rich!” a Myrtle Beach couple’s children said after the couple bought what turned out to be a winning lottery ticket.
South Carolina Education Lottery officials reported April 16 that a Myrtle Beach woman and her boyfriend won $100,000 from a “Joker Mania” scratch-off ticket.
The winning ticket was sold at the Circle K at 6501 N. Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, according to a press release.
The woman said she was unable to decide which ticket to buy with her $5 in change, so she let her boyfriend choose. He picked a “Joker Mania” ticket, and the young couple won.
“I was dancing a jig,” one winner said.
The couple’s children were equally excited and said they want a PlayStation gaming console.
However, their mom has a bigger prize in mind: a new house.
One top prize of $100,000 is still in the Joker Mania lottery game, and the odds of winning it are one in 480,000, according to South Carolina lottery officials.
