‘Big Christmas’ in the works for recent Myrtle Beach lottery winner
A Myrtle Beach woman is planning a big Christmas celebration after winning $125,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket, purchased at a Myrtle Beach gas station.
She scratched off the ticket while at home in her living room and won the top prize of $125,000, according to a press release from South Carolina Education Lottery.
“I kept staring at it,” she said to lottery officials. Her family was also stunned when they saw the winning ticket.
The winner’s birthday is a few days away, and she’s planning a festive Christmas instead of getting big birthday gifts.
“We’ll have a big Christmas,” she said.
The winning lottery ticket came from Murphy’s gas station at 865 Oak Forest Lane in Myrtle Beach, and the store received a $1,250 commission for selling the scratch-off, officials said.
