Update: Coroner releases name of man killed in Georgetown County wreck

A 27-year-old man was killed when his vehicle went off a Georgetown County road and struck a tree early Monday morning.

Dustin Cribb died of multiple body trauma in the crash, according to a release from the the Georgetown County Coroner’s Office.

The single-car crash happened about 6 a.m. at Johnson Road, near Browns Ferry Road, according to Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

A 1997 Jeep was traveling on Johnson Road when it went off the roadway and hit a tree. The driver was not wearing a seat belt during the crash, Collins said, who also stated the driver was the only person in the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
