Several people received medical treatment following a hazmat incident at a Conway area gas station Friday morning, authorities said.
Horry County Fire Rescue and Conway Fire Department were called about 11 a.m. to the Sunhouse convenience store at 2760 S.C. 905.
Mark Nugent, HCFR spokesman, said several people started having breathing issues and a county hazmat team was called in to determine the cause.

When the call from came out, it was initially for a fire, but authorities learned the issues stemmed from a hazmat incident, involving an unknown chemical, when they got to the scene, Nugent said.
Three people were taken to the hospital following the incident, with one person in critical condition and two others with minor injuries, according to Nugent.
He said there were was no word on the source of the hazmat issue as of Friday afternoon, but whatever caused the vapor cleared out. Nugent said the building was turned over to the owners in safe condition.
