For any locals wanting some fresh seafood, Ocean Fish Market was recently listed as one of the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants in South Carolina by OnlyInYourState.com.
The seafood restaurant is located in Conway and is positioned right next to the Waccamaw River.
It offers take-out, picnic tables to eat on under giant oak trees and also fresh seafood to take home and cook yourself.
The eatery has been owned and operated by Ray and Diane Hardee for around 19 years, but the restaurant itself has been open since the 1940s.
“Talk about ‘hard to find’ restaurants, Ocean Fish Market is crammed into the very back corner of a parking lot behind the Kingston Presbyterian Church in downtown Conway,” OnlyInYourState.com wrote in its article. “You could always just follow your nose to the smell of the freshly cooked fish they serve. Also, if there's a line when you get there - it's totally worth it.”
The article named 13 S.C. eateries that are “tasty treasures” and “deliver a shockingly great feast inside.”
OnlyInYourState.com is a travel website that publishes articles to “help you discover new and exciting things to do in your own backyard,” its Facebook page states.
