The second day of The Sun New’s Facebook Live Q&A sessions welcomed mayoral candidate C.D. Rozsa.

Throughout the session, Rozsa discussed key issues in the campaign such as crime and the Superblock properties, as well as topics that are close to him such as vendor licenses.

For crime, Rozsa hopes to add 70 new officers to the department, focusing on task forces, bringing in experienced officers and improving retention. As for the Superblock properties, he does not agree with building a new children’s museum or library, but he does feel that the downtown area needs a “facelift.”

Focusing on social issues, Rozsa would like to make it easier for entertainers to perform within city limits. If the entertainment district is improved, Rozsa believes that other issues will also improve.

When asked why he is the best candidate for the position he said, “I’m not one that can be bought. Like I said, I was running a free campaign. I’m not taking any money from anybody. So the big money that’s here in town, they have no influence on me. I’m more for the local residents, the people that are really the heart of Myrtle Beach, the small business owners. I want to look out for the big business owners too.”

The Facebook Live Q&A sessions with mayoral candidates continues throughout the week. Ed Carey is scheduled for Oct. 26 and Mark McBride will appear on Oct. 27. Both livestreams will begin at noon.

Rozsa said that he will not be at the debate scheduled for Thursday evening at the Myrtle Beach Train Depot due to medical reasons with a family member.
