Steakhouse at Barefoot Landing has closed its doors
Castano’s Italian Steakhouse has closed its doors after five years in business at Barefoot Landing, the owner announced in a Facebook post Monday.
“We had a good run and I am so thankful for all the past loyalty shown to us. Last night was a great night and there is nothing like going out on a high. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” said Curtis Brown, who owned the restaurant with his wife, Darleen.
Their decision to close the restaurant was based on major redesign work ongoing at Barefoot Landing, which they said would limit traffic and force closures during some construction work.
“That coupled with rent increases Darleen and I have opted to pursue other endeavors. We wish no ill will onto no one and appreciate all the good times,” Brown said.
Burroughs & Chapin is planning a major transformation of Barefoot Landing over the next few years, beginning with the development of a new restaurant district anchored with Lulu's by Lucy Buffett.
The restaurant district will be known as the Dockside Village and will feature waterfront dining on the Intracoastal Waterway with other new outdoor attractions and live music.
