Second suspect arrested after Freemont Road shooting leaves one dead
A second person has been arrested after a shooting on Freemont Rd. in Longs left on dead on Oct. 10, according to a police report from the Horry County Police Department.
Khyeem Bradly, 17, of Longs is being charged with murder, officials said. He is currently held at the Horry County Detention Center.
Anthony Bellamy, 39, of Longs was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime on Oct. 16.
On Oct. 10 officers responded to the Freemont Rd. in reference to a 911 hangup call, the report states. When officers arrived on scene they found a victim sitting inside a grey Chevy Tahoe.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Officials said that the vehicle had a bullet hole in the passenger side window. Witnesses on the scene told officials that the victim was driving his vehicle down Elbow Rd. when he jumped the ditch and ran his vehicle into the neighbor’s driveway.
Witnesses on scene tried to get into the vehicle to help the victim but could not because the doors were locked, officials said.
The report states that EMS said that the victim appeared to have three gunshot wounds.
Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard later identified 41-year-old Jason Sprott of Jacksonville, Florida as the victim.
