Sharks vanish from North Ocean Boulevard to make way for new development
Shark Attack Adventure Golf has disappeared from 700 North Ocean Boulevard along with the animatronic shark show.
The visually exciting 36-hole miniature golf course with a giant shark preying on a fisherman has been sold to Joshua Laniado and a new development is planned for the prime oceanfront location.
“The proposal is for mixed use, so it will be commercial on the bottom floor and residential above it,” said Carol Coleman, Myrtle Beach planning director.
The new development will be similar to the Beach Club under development at the former location of Banditos on the boardwalk. That three-story building will include BurgerFi, Tin Roof, Papa’s Raw Bar and a convenience store selling beach essentials on the first floor.
The difference is the new development at the former putt putt golf site will have commercial businesses on the first floor, and residential units on the second floor, Coleman said.
The new tenants have not yet been announced.
