Pedestrian identified after fatal hit-and-run on U.S. 501
The victim of a deadly hit-and-run has been identified, after two pedestrians were struck early Friday morning on U.S. 501 near Waccamaw Drive in Conway, Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.
Frank Jezierski, 37, of Myrtle Beach was killed around 3 a.m. when the driver involved was traveling south on U.S. 501, Michelle McSpadden, Horry County deputy coroner, said.
After hitting the two pedestrians, the driver fled the scene, Lance Cpl. Judd Jones with SCHP said.
A female pedestrian was injured and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
SCHP is investigating the crash.
