This Grand Strand restaurant has closed its doors
A Grand Strand K&W Cafeteria has closed its doors, according to Richard Corbett, district manager with the restaurant.
The Murells Inlet restaurant, located at 1255 Tadlock Drive, closed Sunday night. Corbett said that managers met with employees that night to discuss the closing.
“It’s unfortunate that we had to make the decision,” Corbett said. “Sales declined a little over the past few years.”
About 48 employees worked at the restaurant.
“We’re placing as many employees as we can” in Grand Strand area K&W Cafeterias, Corbett said. Two K&W Cafeterias are located in Myrtle Beach, and one in North Myrtle Beach.
The now-closed restaurant is located near the Inlet Square Mall.
The nearby Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar located at 3256 U.S. 17 in Murrells Inlet also closed.
A sign that was placed on the door reads:
“We are truly disappointed with the necessity of this decision and we regret any inconvenience it has caused our valued guests. We greatly appreciate your patronage and look forward to continuing to serve guests at our other nearby locations.”
Applebee’s also is located in Conway, Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach.
The restaurant closed in early August.
