LEGO attraction sets up in Myrtle Beach area

An attraction that lets guests explore all things LEGO has set up at Broadway at the Beach for a temporary stay.

LEGO Summer Brickation, which is near Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville on the 29th Avenue North side of the complex , was open for the Memorial Day weekend and will reopen June 6.

The attraction has several activity areas allowing children and adults to build using LEGOs and poise with life-size LEGO models. Areas include DUPLO Boat, build tables, creation stations, race ramps and a LEGO challenge zone. It also features a LEGO cityscape and a LEGO Myrtle Beach mosaic.

The attraction, which is free to explore, will be open until July 17. Hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.

Myrtle Beach is one of four U.S. cities to host the LEGO attraction; the others are Branson, Mo.; Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Traverse City, Mich.

"The LEGO brand is one of the more well known brands in the world offering children the opportunity to use their imaginations to create their own LEGO models while having fun and learning all at the same time," O'Neil McCoy, general manager for Broadway at the Beach, said in a news release. "With the addition of LEGO Summer Brickation at Broadway at the Beach, we are able to provide our visitors with a fun and new way to experience the LEGO brand first-hand."
