Youth gain experience, help others through Salkehatchie Summer Service camp

Twenty youth from around the region are volunteering to help refurbish homes in the Longs area this week.

"You get the experience of helping others but at the same time, you are helping yourself," said Rebecca Davis from Indian Land, S.C.

This is the first year that Trinity United Methodist Church in North Myrtle Beach has hosted a Salkehatchie Summer Service camp where the young workers are replacing windows, building wheelchair accessible decks, and repairing the roofs of two homes in the Wampee Community.
